| METEOS 5 System
METEOS5 is a modular measuring system developed by METEOSERVIS v. o. s. for the automatic measurement of meteorological elements but it can be used in many other applications as well. The architecture of the system allows creating a broad scale of various measuring structures from simple to very large ones in terms of their configuration. The technical solution of the system makes it possible to connect virtually an unlimited range of sensors made by various manufacturers with analogue, digital or directly data outputs. At the same time, the system also possesses power outputs for the control of technological elements. The METEOS 5 system reflects the multi-year experience of METEOSERVIS v. o. s. with the manufacture and operation of measuring devices outdoors. The METEOS 5 is designed in such a way so that the measuring systems built on its basis are operational in outdoor conditions and correspond, with their mode and accuracy of measurement, to the recommendations of the WMO (World Meteorological Organization). With its parameters it also complies with requirements for industrial use. The architecture of the METEOS 5 system minimizes the influence of atmospheric overvoltage on individual modules, groups of modules as well as connected sensors.
The communication options and networking of the measuring modules of the METEOS 5 system enable, in the case of large measuring systems, connection to various memory and control units such as a single-board computer (embedded PC). By contrast, for simple applications and applications with the necessity of independent power supply the METEOS 5 system is controlled by a PIC processor-based processor unit (METEOS 5-Mini). For all applications, the METEOSERVIS Company also provides complete support of the system software. The systems can be utilized for data transfer by virtually all commonly used communication channels. From the connection of a superior computer directly by a fixed cable, via wireless Wi-fi technology, radio contact up to data transfer through the mobile network into the Internet environment. Implemented on the basis of the small system "METEOS5-Mini" are, for example, networks of automatic rain gauges with data transfer through the mobile network by means of the GPRS method. They can also be utilized in flood warning systems. The METEOS 5 system enables METEOSERVIS v. o. s. a relatively easy extension and changes according to the customer's requirements in the future. It even allows implementing very atypical and unique applications such was, for example, the floating evaporation pan. The METEOS5 system fits in the basic concept of METEOSERVIS v. o. s., i.e. to enable the customer to order a complete measuring system comprising the necessary configuration of sensors, measuring hardware and software, communication facilities, required power-supply system including independent sources (solar cell, small wind power plant...) as well as the mechanical means of the system (poles, measuring platforms, stands, shields...).
